This Privacy Policy explains what information I collect when you use labunhang.com, why I use it, and how you can manage it. I run this website as a personal journal, sharing articles, stories and reflections.

  • When you contact me: The contact form collects your name, email address, subject and message so I can read and respond to your enquiry.
  • When you subscribe: I collect your name, email address, the page where you signed up, the dates of your subscription request and confirmation, and your subscription status. I also retain records needed to manage subscriptions and newsletter delivery.
  • When you use a subscription form: Limited technical information is processed temporarily to help prevent automated signups, repeated requests and misuse.

3. How the newsletter works

Subscribing is voluntary. The form asks for your name and email address and requires you to agree to receive email updates. I send a confirmation email so that you can confirm you control the address. The confirmation link expires for security.

After you confirm, the website may send a welcome email, occasional articles, reflections and newsletter editions. It can also notify me by email that a new subscription was confirmed. Your name may be used to address messages personally. I use the list for this journal’s emails, not for unrelated mailing lists.

Every newsletter includes a way to unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, I stop sending newsletter campaigns to that address. I may retain its unsubscribed status and limited related records to respect your choice and prevent accidental resubscription during imports. You may also contact me to ask about deletion.

4. Email delivery and storage

I keep subscriber information and newsletter records to manage this mailing list and respect subscription preferences. Access is limited to people authorised to administer the website.

I use an email delivery provider to send confirmation messages, welcome emails and newsletters. The provider processes information needed to deliver messages, and your email provider may also retain related information under its own policies. I do not sell, rent or trade subscriber lists.

5. Cookies, analytics and embedded content

The website uses cookies or similar technologies where needed for sign-ins, comments, site functionality, performance and security. Disabling cookies in your browser may affect some features.

I use Google Analytics to understand how readers visit and use this website. This can involve cookies and information about visits, pages, devices, browsers and general location. Analytics information is handled by Google according to its Privacy Policy.

Some articles may contain embedded content or links from services such as YouTube or social platforms. When you load or interact with third-party content, those services may collect information under their own policies. A link to another website does not mean I control its data practices.

6. How long information is kept

I keep subscriber records while needed to manage the mailing list, confirmation status, unsubscribes and delivery history. Unconfirmed or inactive records and sending logs may remain until reviewed or removed. Comments may remain with their related articles unless removed. Contact messages may be retained as needed to respond or maintain a record of the conversation.

Hosting logs, email service records, cached copies and backups can have different retention periods. I aim to keep information only for appropriate purposes and may need to retain limited records for security, legal obligations or to honour unsubscribe requests.

7. Your choices and requests

  • Newsletters: You can unsubscribe through the link in a newsletter at any time.
  • Access or correction: You can ask what personal information I hold about you and request corrections.
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal information, subject to records that must reasonably or legally be kept.
  • Cookies: You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings.

8. Children’s privacy

This journal is not directed at children. I do not intentionally seek children’s personal information for newsletter subscriptions. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact me so I can review the request.
